When Ghost Hunters along with other paranormal shows came out, I was fascinated with the topic along with the tools used for this field and as these shows progressed so did their tools for investigating the paranormal. One of the tools that caught my attention was the Rem Pod. As an electronics technician I wanted to purchase one just to see how it was built and worked but these units are expansive so I held off on a purchase and decided to just research the build.
After some research, I was able to figure out the basic design and I built a few up on the bench but I realized they were not consistent in their characteristics which is important so I sat down and decided to make a new board design layout that allowed these units to be tuned for a maximum sensitivity and easily reproduced with the same characteristics. I also wanted to make them affordable for the average person for around half the price or even less then the ones being sold today and they had to be compact and look professionally constructed
but most importantly,
they had to work!
Besides the physical appearance there are some small differences in the commercially produced units available but these added features are not critical to the core operation of these units. Their real magic lies in their ability to be able to detect magnetic and static-shifts in their environment also known as a proximity effect. These rem pods leave the shop already pre-tuned for a maximum sensitivity but the units sensitivity can be adjusted to cope with a environment
where higher noise levels may pose an issue. The only difference in these and the commercially produced rem pods is they don't sense temperature changes around them which is not critical for their performance or their operation.
Seasoned investigators will almost always carry a non-contact handheld thermometer with them so they can randomly check for cold spots "off the fly" during their paranormal investigations.
Building these rem rods is a labor of love and these are all hand built in my shop. I'm selling these with a 6 month guarantee against any electronic failure and I will replace the unit should it fail under warranty and if I don't have one in stock, I will refund the buyer minus the shipping fees. The warranty is a standard common sense warranty that covers any normal component failure such as switches, LED's and internal electronics. The warranty will not cover damage due to being dropped, abused or exposed to the elements such as rain or extreme heat such as being left in direct sunlight. I will also offer a repair service should the unit fail after it's warranty expires. These units come with simple to understand instructions explaining how to use them along with how to care for them.
People should always understand that neither this or any tool of this nature can guarantee that you will get hits or detect paranormal activity during an investigation. Keep in mind that when you're watching these types of shows they can have many hours and even days of investigating time tied up in a single investigation just to be able to produce a 30 or 45 minute show after they edit it down. Also keep in mind that some people are natural magnets to this type of activity drawing it to them with or without tools while others won't experience anything during an investigation even if they are on the same investigation team and location with someone who is a natural magnet to this activity.
