Haunted Dybbuk box. On a previous trip to Maryland, we enjoyed the beautiful area before delving into investigating Jericho Covered Bridge for paranormal investigating. Always checking old antique stores and consignment shops, we came across this box. The shop's owner said the heaviness that came into the store when they received it was a shock to them. Having seen what some have claimed to be haunted but never experiencing anything till now. They kept it inside a glass case to help keep the activity to a minimum. They had their lights turn on and off, bad odors and items falling randomly. It was dropped off in a box along with old jewelry and old photos they had already sold. Upon buying the box, we noticed the atmosphere, even in our vehicle change. It was an unsettling trip when we had to drive, but once out of our car, felt relaxed. When we brought it home, we did try an investigation with all our equipment and tried to figure out the intentions of what might be inside. We have had our REM pod light up, strong foul odors, EMF and MEL meter respond quite high and my daughter has had to leave when communicating because of the overwhelming sick feeling she gets when around it. Our dogs go to the furthest spot downstairs they could when it is out and wont come near us, not even for a treat. .The box itself has some kind of carving on top, looks like an eye, but maybe not, there is something extending from a corner of it. Also the bottom has a few lines carved into a corner. Not sure if it was a ritualistic symbol and lines , which craft or what, but never saw that in a box before. We did leave the box in our dining room a few days to further investigate and in that time seemed to have bad luck, things kept breaking in our home, things would be moved and all of us seemed to be irate and confrontational. Me and my daughter experienced bad dreams, barely any sleep and nightmares of an old hag trying to reach for us. We have this box stored in our finished basements spare room along with the few others that we needed to remove from close proximity. This box is one of a few items we've gotten that actually does scare me.
There was a clear pale blue and black wax sealing just the front latch on the box. The wax was starting to crumble, and not wanting it to completely unseal, I did use one of my daughters spell candles and add some to the front latch to prevent it from opening. We havent opened our boxes in years as to keep their integrity, but since this one was crumbling, I wanted to make sure for our sake that it DID stay closed. I just recommend whomever decides to take this box in, proceed with caution and have sage ready to cleanse if you decide to open the box.
I do start my bidding at just above the cost of what I paid for my items, as to cover the costs of selling. I dont believe in hiking them up, the bidding is your decision and rehoming the items is my goal.
With doing paranormal investigations for over 12 years and collecting objects with attachments to them, we are slowly running out of safe space for them. We are slowly going to rehome some of them, so keep an eye out for more items to come.
