Description
This is a Model 2006 Analytic Technology pulp tester. Includes 5 tips, the "ground wire" and instructions. Super easy to use. Clip the ground wire to the handpiece and hook the other end around the patient's lip. Select a tip, insert it into the handpiece and place it against the tooth, being careful not to include the gingiva. It turns on automatically. We used to use a dab of F- gel to insure a good electrical connection. The red light at the end of the handpiece will light up when you have a good connection, and go out when you don't. The pulp tester automatically begins ramping up the current. Tell the patient to indicate to you as soon as they feel a buzz or anything at all. At that point, withdraw the handpiece to break the connection. The display will show (and hold the reading).A few caveats. You can't test thru a crown. Testing thru metallic fillings will give unreliable readings. Your best bet for a test site is a clean, unrestored buccal or lingual surface. Don't use on somebody with a pacemaker. The directions cover all this stuff.
The point is, this is easy to use. It will be shipped without batteries. It will require 4 AA alkaline batteries and a small phillips screwdriver to load them.
My 2018 Burkhart catalog lists this model new at 60.00. Save quite a few bucks by buying this one instead.
Dr retired. We are parting out the instruments and equipment.
